The Secretary’s Report was given by Timm Johnson with the 2005 Babcock House Corporation minutes being distributed at the meeting for everyone’s review. Minutes were approved with a motion to dispense reading of the minutes and approve minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously.
President John Rozum introduced the recipients of the 2006 Babcock House Corporation Scholarships. They included Joe Binversie, Kody Habeck, Scott Roundtree, Alex Waskawic, Brian Bradley, Rebecca Murkley, and Mike Stranz. The amounts of these scholarships totaled $3,000.00 with an additional $1,000.00 scholarship presented to Aaron Wepner. This scholarship is a combination Peterson and House funds presented to an outstanding upperclassman.
A brief update on the 75 for 75 funds was also covered at this time explaining the purpose of reducing the remodeling debt and for house improvements.
Dan Wepner presented the Treasurer’s Report highlighting the income and expense of house operations, and covered the balances in the Alumni Funds, scholarship accounts, 75 for 75 Fund, and student loan accounts.
Dan Weiss mentioned the interest of the McCutchin family of possibly changing the use of the balance in the account bearing their name in memory of a family member. The account currently is used for student loans, with a possibility of making a donation to the 75 for 75 fund.

New Business:
The Spring Banquet highlighting 75 years of Babcock House will be held on April 14, 2007 at Rex’s Innkeeper in Waunakee, WI. John Rozum mentioned at the spring banquet an Alumni Directory will be available that will have the history of Babcock House along with information on Dr. Stephen Babcock. All of the residents of Babcock House during the 75 years will be listed along with interesting alumni facts. Several donations have been received for a fundraising auction that will be held at the banquet.
Information on the spring banquet will be through the newsletter and on the Babcock House website. A suggestion for a golf outing the afternoon of the Spring Banquet was identified and John Rozum will check on possible arrangements.
Dan Wepner and Ron Curran have served their terms on the Babcock House Corporation Board. President Rozum thanked both of them for their years of service to the Board and respective leadership positions they have filled.
Jake Gall and Mike Marr had expressed interest in serving on the board.
Motion was made, seconded, and approved to seat Jake Gall and Mike Marr as the two board replacements.
Board President John Rozum gave a brief overview of the status of Babcock House. Very sound physical condition of the house, financial condition, and house resident population were all mentioned. An issue that does exist with the current exhaust hood in the kitchen does need to be addressed. It will either be part of a major kitchen remodeling or as a singular item. Further Board discussion will occur- with possible action during the winter break of the 2006-07 school year.
With no further business to address- meeting adjourned at 9:40 AM
Respectfully submitted,
Timm Johnson
