Summer 2008 Kitchen Renovation Project

Dear Babcock Alum,

Here are some photos of the kitchen renovation.  Notice the new floor, new appliances and new work areas.  We are very pleased with the way this turned out, stop by and see the new kitchen this fall!

This project has been in the works for years. The Board has talked with the students, cooks, chefs, suppliers, contractors and vendors to determine the best course of action. The result is a solid plan that replaces the outdated equipment with energy efficient appliances and gives the students an efficient, easy to clean kitchen that is more functional and a little less industrial.

We introduced this campaign in the April Babcock Newsletter, and many of you have already stepped up and sent in donations. I am asking each of you to make a donation today – or at least making a pledge to contribute to this fund by the end of the 2008.

Here are some photos of the old kitchen.  You can tell that this renovations was badly needed.

Memorial Day progress report

The Board decided at our May meeting to open a line of credit in case we do not get enough donations.  We have received several thousand dollars so far, and we get new donations almost daily.  Meanwhile, several members of the House removed all of the appliances to get the kitchen down to the bare walls for the construction crew.

We could still use all the help we can get to finance this project.  Please make checks payable to Babcock House and mail to:
